Water Sculpture

Dream Wave Sculpture

Dream Wave Sculpture makes metaphorical reference to an important aspect of the history of the City of Hollywood. The Dream Wave Sculpture refers to the dream of Hollywood's founder, Joseph W. Young, in which he had a vision to create the plan for the City. Originating from the location of the existing statue of Mr. Young at the western entrance to the park, a pattern depicting a typical human brain wave in the dream state extends to the central platform where the Water Sculpture takes place. Either terrazzo or white cement with shell ingredients embedded in the pavement will be used to create this pattern. Additionally a radial paver pattern starting from the Baobab Tree is also applied to the walkways connecting the tree and the fountain to draw attention to this tree and to help make the connection between these two elements visually clear.
